The Performance Assessment Page

Performance Assessment may be used effectively in formative assessment because the method includes presentation of cognitively challenging tasks that facilitate the formative assessment process.

Used outside a high stakes context as in the CAC, teachers can use formative assessment to close the achievement gap.
