Reading is critical to all subject area. Yes, reading is everyone's business.

PIRLS data suggests that reading performance has improved in the primary school, but as of 2011, there are still more than 22% of students reading at a standard below the lowest benchmark.

According to the PISA 2009 data, more than 44% of the students at age 15 in the secondary school are non-readers.
